Thanks, Mr. Mofi! I like that phrase you used “we all change with time” because it holds so much truth. The things I cared about most a few years ago are not longer as important to me, and undoubtedly the things I care about most in a few years will be different as well.

I appreciate the kind words 🙂

I can relate to the path you’ve been on for sure. Agreed, predicting the future is hard and we all change with time.
Pursuing a path that gives future Zach options and flexibility is a great plan. The best thing about FI taking time to achieve is that we have a while to work out the right balance of living for now and planning for the future. Keep up the thoughtful work mate! Definitely keeping me inspired.

Thanks for the kind words, Mrs. Grumby. That’s something I’m trying to do more – looking back at all that I have done so far and taking a moment to appreciate my progress. I think I’m hard-wired to always strive to be better and sometimes that can prevent me from enjoying all the hard work I have already put in. Thanks for the reminder 🙂

I think you’re right about work too. The most valuable work is always the work I’m doing now. I actually hadn’t looked at it this way before, but I like that view and I think it makes sense. Thanks for your insight 🙂

I expect my perspectives and views to continue changing as I grow older, it’s just the natural process that comes with learning and growing. And great point, most people can’t predict what they’ll want in the future, there’s just too many changing variables. Thanks for the feedback, Mike 🙂

Right now, every time you publish a blog post, you inspire, motivate, and educate. Pause a moment and consider the ripple effect of the value that this good work brings to the world.

As long as you continue to approach life with your current level of curiosity and thirst for understanding your purpose, the work that you’re doing right now will always be your most valuable work. Periodically, take a moment to look back and enjoy the growth you’ve experienced. And celebrate your many contributions!

Certain people are just hard-wired as savers I feel like and it becomes natural for them. Others can do it too but have to shift their mentality a bit. Your views/goals may change a bit as you get older, but the infrastructure will probably stay pretty much the same; at least it has for me….so far 🙂

You’ll almost likely find different perspectives and goals in the coming years.

I’m 33 now, and perspectives have absolutely changed every couple of years as I’ve continued to learn and grow.

Having focused on saving / investing, you should have the ability to create and leverage optionality. As you said, no one knows what you might want in the future – even you until you get there.
