I’m aware of almost all of this, but it comes down to discipline if doing all the right things every day to ensure.

The axiety of not getting a good sleep is a destructive cycle! The gadgets are also a challenge, as listening to one or two podcasts that are on the more boring side are great to help me sleep!

Thanks for the feedback Susan! Very interesting question you bring up – I suspect that bad eating and poor sleep both cause each other in a type of downward spiral. Lack of sleep causes us to crave garbage food, which negatively affects sleep, which causes to crave more garbage food, etc. Thanks for the recommendation about Dr. Perlmutter, I’ll have to check that video out.

We have this book and while I’ve skimmed it, my husband has been reading it and making comments which are great for discussion.

One thing I’m beginning to wonder as I have been following low-carb health and watching YouTubes with new research — is lack of sleep causing bad eating, diabetes, and other health problems or is eating process carbohydrates the cause of inflammation and a host of related problems? Chicken or egg? I recently watched Dr. Perlmutter on an episode of Tom Bilyeu’s Impact Theory. Great “food for thought”.

This is eye-opening stuff, as Dave mentioned on twitter. Or eye-shutting!

No way am I waking up at stupid o’clock in the morning on a weekend just to preserve a sleep schedule that makes me feel terrible anyway.

Unfortunately I had to go the zolpidem route via my sleep doc, but even still, to go from 5 hours average to nearly 8 is amazing. Don’t believe “I’ll sleep when I’m dead” and “sleep is overrated.” Quality of life is massively better now.
