According to the 2012 - 2016 American Community Survey, 24.6% of all households in the U.S. earn an annual income of $100k or higher.

This rate varies significantly from county to county, though. In Quitman County, Georgia, only 2.5% of households earn six-figures or more per year. Contrast that with Loudoun County, Virginia, where 63% of all households earn at least $100k each year.
