Every year on August 31st, the residents of Nejapa, El Salvador participate in an event called Bolas de Fuego, in which they throw flaming kerosene-soaked balls at each other in the streets. It started almost 100 years ago as a religious commemoration of a 1658 volcanic eruption. The three-minute clip above gives you a glimpse into the madness.
