This week features a video on the mind-boggling cost of living in San Francisco, an article on how one couple is thriving without owning a car, and much more. Enjoy!

  1. Don’t live in the Bay. Why should the state pay ridiculous child care costs because you want to live in the cool area?

Why should fiscally responsible people pay for those that spend foolishly?

    1. The Bay is wildly expensive, and most people don’t have a high enough income to even rent comfortably in the area, let alone consider buying a home. It will be interesting to track the housing prices in the Bay during the coming years…

  2. Hey Zach,
    Thanks for the shout out!
And, as always, thanks for the recommendations. Look forward to checking out these blog posts during my commute time this week.
I’ll be riding my bike to work tomorrow and will have some great reading time on light rail the rest of the week.
So glad we don’t live in San Francisco! It’s one of my favorite cities, but definitely not worth delaying retirement to live there.

    1. No problem, Mrs. Grumby! I’m fascinated by you and Mr. Grumby’s no-car downsized-house lifestyle, I’m glad it’s something you both blog about. And agreed – San Francisco is a beautiful city to visit but it kills the wallet if you choose to live there.

  3. Hi Zach,
Thanks for including my article! You’re one of the PF bloggers that I regularly read right now. I especially love your content about philosophy and psychology. Keep up the great quality work. 🙂
